FOXX HOUNDS IOWA BASSET RESCUE LLC.
WHO WE REALLY ARE:
We are a small Basset Hound rescue licensed in Iowa &
Missouri .
Even thought we are small, we cover the Sioux City, Des
Moines, and Iowa City, Council Bluffs Iowa and some parts of
Missouri areas and take in the love of our lives THE BASSET
HOUNDS.
To find those we rescue new, loving-homes, is our
mission. All of our Basset Hounds are altered and up to date
on their shots for a year. All Basset Hounds are adorable,
just into their sad, soulful eyes.
Please call to set up a time to look for yourself! Most
of the time we bring them right to your front door, so that
you can get acquainted. We do home visits prior to placing
our bassets in a new loving home setting .We do home visit
follow ups to see how you are doing with your new basset. We
also try to help other breeds if we have room. We at Foxx
and Hounds, Iowa Basset Hounds Rescue appreciate your
inquiries. No one connected with Foxx and Hounds, Iowa
Basset Hound Rescue receives a salary. We rescue, not for
profit, but for the benefit of each hound, we rescue.

Our mission has always been to make life better for
BASSETHOUNDS by:
Rescuing and ministering to the indigent
BASSETHOUND population.
Providing shelter, love and medical care for all
of our BASSETHOUNDS until they find a loving home.
Promoting responsible pet ownership.
Providing on-going adoption support services to
ensure a lifetime commitment from pet owners.
Eliminating animal cruelty through education.
Helping to reduce animal over-population with
low-cost spay/neuter referral programs.
Fostering a respect for all living creatures.
FOXX HOUNDS IOWA BASSET RESCUE’S GOALS
1. Foxx Hounds
Iowa Basset Hound
Rescue, to oversee appropriate referral, rescue, recovery,
and rehabilitation of the animals.
2.
Rescue specific, but
not limited to the Basset Hound breed.
3.
To be specifically
involved in the referral, rescue, recovery, and
rehabilitation of said animals.
4.
Inform and educate the
public as to the above mission.
5.
Provide education and
awareness as to the nature of animal abuse and cruelty and
prevention.
6.
Educate children and
young people as to the merits of the rescue program.
7.
Cooperate with other
non-profit agencies with similar goals.
8.
Establish working
relationships with other said organizations.
9.
Establish effective
relationships with local, State, and Federal agencies
(animal control, police, fire rescue, and FEMA, and the
military.
10.
Establish working
relationship with local veterinarians and animal care
hospitals.
11.
Solicit ongoing
partnership with local businesses and people that share are
goals both in materials of in kind donations and funding.
12.
Establish specifically
a memorial fund to commemorate the lives of pets and their
people.
13.
Provide historical data
and attributes of what makes the Basset Hound breed unique.
14.
Provide counseling to
the people as to the acquisition and adoption of Basset
Hounds.
15.
Provide guidance as to
the proper nutrition and welfare of a Basset Hound.
16.
Provide appropriate
referral when needed for compassionate burials or
cremations.
17.
Provide referrals to
veterinarians for prevention, treatment and cures for cancer
and other diseases.
18.
Investigate alternative
means of animal/human communication dynamics and document
them.
19.
Promote adequate
training with animals and people to provide polite,
well-mannered animals.
20.
Establish a liaison
with the local, State, and Federal legislators to encourage
and establish animal anti-cruelty laws and regulations.
21.
Work toward educating
the legislative community as to the virtues of companion
animals.
22.
Work toward legislative
incentives to the public in the area of adoption and care of
said animals.
23.
Maintain an open line
of communication to all, both present and potential people
who have adopted and wish to adopt a Basset Hound from Iowa
Basset Hound Rescue.
24.
Be prepared to take
appropriate action if any animal neglect, abuse, or cruelty
is suspected.
25. Provide the best possible care for rescued Basset
Hounds and all animals under our care
Adopting a friend:
Animals reside at area shelters, or with their owners, or
tempering adoption homes who are checked on and approved
before adopting and are seen by appointments with their care
providers.
Adoption fees vary from animal to animal depending upon the
veterinary care that has been provided to the animal while
in the RESCUE, AND AGE. ( Most of our adoption fees are
between $125 and $325. ). ALSO WHEN YOU ADOPT WE DO TELL YOU
THE MONEY GOES DIRECTLY ON ANOTHER BASSETHOUNDS WE HAVE
RESCUED WHO NEEDS CARE, WE DO NOT POCKET THE MONEY IF YOU
NEED TO BRING BACK THE DOG THERE IS NO ADOPTION MONEY COMING
BACK ITS DONATED TO HELP ANOTHER RESCUED BASSET AND IT IS
TAX DEDUCTABLE . WE WILL EXCHANGE ONLY THANK YOU . WE AS
WELL ARE AFFILITE NOT FOR PROFIT 501C3 ORGANIZATION.AND WE
HAVE FILLED FOR OUR OWN. IA BASSET RESCUE LICENCED IN THE

Adoption Information:
Please remember that every animal available for adoption
through Foxx and Hounds - Iowa Basset Rescue is fully-vetted
for it’s age and only needs routine preventive care. Dogs
older then 6 months of age are heartworm tested. All dogs
are kept on heartworm preventative. Every dog is vaccinated
(age appropriate), micro chipped, and wormed, in addition to
being spayed/neutered. We are asking for interested parties
to fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire, prior to setting
up an appointment, by emailing us at iabassetrescue@yahoo.com
or going to our own other website at

and filling out a pre-application form prior

to visiting the animal(s) at the animal’s home. For
more information on our adoption procedures, (such as
requiring adopters to travel to central Iowa to pick the
animal up when approved to adopt. Iowa Basset Rescue does
not ship animals; we do adopt out of state with an approved
vet reference on letter head by mail and by phone calls . We
do have other rescues help us out with our out of area home
visits but most of the time we do them ourselves. The IBR

We do have other volunteers who help out in these areas
as well. ...
